ST LOUIS -- Senior center Cynthia Wolf has been selected as one of 12 Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) recipients of the State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award for the 2022-23 winter sports season, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be in good academic standing, must demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport during the season of recognition. The MVC recognizes 12 student-athletes three times annually (fall, winter, and spring), for a total of 36 honorees. Institutions select their State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award honorees.

Wolf, a senior from Cedar Falls, Iowa, is currently studying biology and gerontology at UNI, maintaining a 3.98 grade-point average (4.0 scale). A 2023 MVC Scholar-Athlete Second Team member and two-time State Farm Scholar-Athlete of the Week, she has been named to the Dean's List every semester she has been enrolled at UNI.

Wolf volunteers with several organizations in the Cedar Falls area including being a member of the Panthers Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) from 2021-22. As part of her gerontology work, Wolf interns at Bickford Assisted Living while also volunteering with the Northeast Iowa Food Bank and with local middle schools.

Wolf played in 28 of UNI's games this season before suffering a season-ending knee injury, helping the Panthers secure third place in the conference and a postseason birth to the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT). The fifth-year center recorded 133 points, 153 rebounds, 37 assists, 25 blocks, and 21 steals for UNI this season.
